After 6 months of training, Karen wrote this:

"Hi. My name is Karen. I turned 40 years old January 2007. I was facing the fact that I was hitting that ominous age and I was extremely out of shape and overweight. I have a family history of diabetes, heart problems, and yes, obesity. So, my outlook on my personal health and condition was grim. My self-esteem and body image was at its lowest. Seeing that I was pained by the idea of being “fat and forty” my husband gave me the best birthday gift I have ever received, 6 months of workouts with Jeff Robinson, my new personal trainer. At first, the thought of a stranger coming to my home and making me lift weights scared me. But, once I met Jeff and he talked me through my personal program I was completely at ease.
 
Jeff presented me a book called Inches Away which is my guide to making my fitness training program work for me. We started slowly with 5, 8, 10 and 12 pound dumbbells, a Swedish workout ball and a mat. When I started, those 12 pound weights might as well have been 50 pounds each. But, each week I got stronger and stronger and I have worked myself up to using weights ranging from 20-35 pounds. I have also increased my cardio workout from a light stroll around the block, to High Intensity Interval training on my treadmill and consecutively walking 4 miles a day at a pace of 4mph everyday.
 
But, the true testimony to my time spent with Jeff is the numbers and my overall health. My blood pressure has dropped, my cholesterol numbers are better, I have lost nearly 30 pounds and am still losing, and I have gone down an overall 38.25 inches in body measurements. My 6 months with Jeff have completely changed my attitude towards my health and body image. I am now making a conscious daily effort to make the right healthy choices for me and continuing my weight training efforts! Thank you, Jeff. After 2½ months of training, my client, Bev, wrote this letter to me.

“As I approached my 51st birthday less than three months ago, I felt fat, flabby, and frumpy. Since the only person in control of that situation was ME, I decided to enlist your services as a personal trainer. Before we started I took my measurements and weighed myself. For three sessions per week we did weight training and ab work. I also made a point to do some sort of cardio at least 5 times per week. I also started keeping a food diary to keep track of what and how much food I ate.
